Our vision
Private Equity fund management does not generate a large volume of operations, as opposed to the listed funds with industrial-scale processes. We focus on customized services and close relationship.
This approach certainly delivers high-quality results, but it also demands unwavering attention and thorough knowledge of the Private Equity industry. This implies:
- being totally familiar with the funds’ by-laws and the various stages of their life-cycle,
- maintaining an ongoing dialogue with fund teams in order to understand the operations to be administered,
- ensuring full compliance with regulations, accounting standards and operating procedures,
- organising controls and preventing conflicts of interest,
- understanding the valuation process,
- supplying reliable information for investor reporting purposes.
Human resources
The team comprises seven experts in Private Equity fund administration and accounting, plus a legal expert. They are all:
- experienced in financial instruments administration,
- familiar with all the fund legal forms (“FCPR” and Limited Partnerships),
- in charge of the full fund’s life-cycle, including net asset value calculation and financial reporting,
- familiar with both the funds and the management companies’ accounting practices.
Combining the accounting services for management companies and Fund Administration in a single back office makes it possible to handle the cross-flow:
- ifund set-up costs supported by the management company which are re-charged to the fund,
- management company's revenue with the fund’s fee.
These operations are overseen by our Compliance and Internal Control Officer, who is accredited by the French securities regulator and reports directly to the chairman of BNP Private Equity.
The Compliance and Internal Control Officer responsibilities include the prevention of conflicts of interests, supervision of funds' investment policies (by attending the internal committee’s meetings) and ensuring compliance with the code of business conduct.
Partnership with the BNP Paribas Group
We have a close working relationship with BNP Paribas Securities Services, the group's fund depositary arm, based on transparency and trust.
Our daily contacts and on-site visits allow us to fully understand the depositary's operating procedures:
- fund asset/liability management (corporate actions, global custody account, etc.),
- wire transfers,
- receipt of capital calls on administered accounts,
- one-stop processing of tax forms.
To satisfy the requirements of the European Union's Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, we have entered into an agreement with the trading desk of BNP Paribas Fin’AMS. Our managers can thus ensure that their orders comply with the rules not only on “best selection” – choosing the most appropriate market and intermediary – but also on “best execution”, whereby orders are executed at the best price available at the time the trade is entered.
